Maggie McGannon, L’16, of the Allegheny County Department of Human Services, will talk about a unique competition for law students to work with other graduate students to develop a solution to a human services problem/issue.  The Local Government Case Competition is an intellectually challenging way to explore opportunities in local government & meet other local students, employers and community leaders.  More information.  

With a budget of over $900 million, DHS is a broad umbrella organization responsible for publicly funded human services in Allegheny County, including mental health services, at-risk child development and education, services for older adults, and much more. Formed in 1997, the department is recognized as a national model in the provision of human services.

The same program will be offered on October 11 from 12:15-12:45 p.m. in Room 304.
