Bernhard Behrend has mediated disputes for over 30 years, is trained in all models of mediation, and trains mediators in basic and advanced skill building. He has mediated hundreds of divorces, employment disputes, and other civil matters.

Mr. Behrend is also a popular lecturer and trainer in conflict resolution theory and skills.  He is a member of the panels of the federal court, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Postal Service, the Realtors’ Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh, and the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.

He is a past President of the Mediation Council of Western Pennsylvania, and a founding member of Mediators Beyond Borders.   Additionally, he is a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution, the Pennsylvania Council of Mediators, and the ADR committee of the Allegheny County Bar Association. 

In addition to a number of certifications, Mr. Behrend holds a BA in philosophy from Vassar College and earned his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
