Tom Weiers has been an instructor for the Paralegal Institute since 1996 teaching Professional Responsibility and Administrative Law.   Although currently a sole practitioner, Mr. Weiers has practiced in law firms having in excess of 100 lawyers.  He primarily practices construction and labor law.   Mr. Weiers has been legal counsel to the Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Pennsylvania for over 25 years.  He was formerly general counsel for 10 years to the Pennsylvania Utility Contractors Association.  He serves as a neutral arbitrator on the American Arbitration Association’s Construction Industry Panel. 

Mr. Weiers lectures extensively to contractor groups on topics such as claims for change orders and extra or additional work, construction contract drafting and formation, delay and acceleration claims, mechanic’s liens, bond claims and prevailing wage issues.

Mr. Weiers was named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for construction law for the years 2006-2017, an honor bestowed upon the top five percent of Pennsylvania lawyers.

A graduate of Duquesne University’s School of Law, Mr. Weiers was a member of the Editorial Board of the Law Review.
