Monday, June 13, 2016

Duquesne University President-elect Ken Gormley's recently published book is the focus of a Book TV program now available on C-SPAN.com.

The show highlights a panel discussion hosted by the National Constitution Center featuring:

  • Ken Gormley, editor of The Presidents and the Constitution,
  • Barbara Perry, chapter author and co-chair of the Presidential Oral History Program at the University of Virginia’s Miller Center of Public Affairs,
  • Kenneth Starr, chapter author and professor of law at Baylor University, and
  • Michael Gerhardt, program moderator and professor of law at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The panel examined how each president has related to the Constitution and how their respective tenures have affected the document.

Perry wrote the book chapter on John F. Kennedy, Starr wrote about Ronald Reagan, and Gerhardt wrote about Barack Obama. In addition to conceiving the volume and editing the book, Gormley wrote the chapter on Bill Clinton.

The Presidents and the Constitution: A Living History was published by NYU Press.
