Law alumni invited to judge the 1L oral arguments

Monday, January 9, 2017

Law alumni are needed to judge the 1L appellate oral arguments being held on Saturday, April 1, and Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Duquesne University School of Law.

Each argument will involve two students and will last approximately one hour.  Four “judges,” usually three practicing attorneys and one Legal Research & Writing Professor, will preside over each argument.  Volunteers will judge six students, in three pairs of oral arguments.

Volunteering will entail three hours of judging, in the morning or afternoon, as well as the advance reading of the students’ briefs and supporting materials.  Small receptions for the participants will follow all the sessions so that volunteers will have an opportunity to speak informally with students and other participants.
